As the current press secretary Dana Perino daily reminds us, you don’t have to be a genius to succeed as press secretary. But you do need (1) composure under fire, (2) verbal fluency, (3) an understanding of the imperatives of the news business and (4) access to the interior workings of the administration. McClellan never possessed qualities (1) and (2), and his colleagues refused to grant him (4).

Exclusive: McClellan whacks Bush, White House
By MIKE ALLEN | 5/27/08 6:18 PM EST Text Size:

McClellan says the administration relied on "propaganda" to sell the war.

Former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan writes in a surprisingly scathing memoir to be published next week that President Bush “veered terribly off course,” was not “open and forthright on Iraq,” and took a “permanent campaign approach” to governing at the expense of candor and competence.

Among the most explosive revelations in the 341-page book, titled “What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington’s Culture of Deception” (Public Affairs, $27.95):

• McClellan charges that Bush relied on “propaganda” to sell the war.

• He says the White House press corps was too easy on the administration during the run-up to the war.

• He admits that some of his own assertions from the briefing room podium turned out to be “badly misguided.”

• The longtime Bush loyalist also suggests that two top aides held a secret West Wing meeting to get their story straight about the CIA leak case at a time when federal prosecutors were after them — and McClellan was continuing to defend them despite mounting evidence they had not given him all the facts.

looks like Bush's Chief Propagandist
still can't keep his propaganda straight

---such a tangled web we weave-when the Bushie neo-cons pay us to deceive--
9/11 happened on the Republican watch We must never let dullards sleep in the watchtowers of Freedom again

It was all rewritten by George Soros and company.

The book is a collection of left-wing blogger nonsense inserted into McClellan's boring first draft.

I realized the left had no morals, ethics or conscience... but this charade is a new low. I shouldn't be surprised.

Questions to liberals:

Who financed the book? Why did the book change significantly from the intitial draft to final draft? Who was the ghost writer?
Answer those questions, we have.

Of course the tricky part is the next job interview. How do you assure your next employer that this debacle would not happen again, that you are no longer the "cowardly lion" type sissy-boy you appeared to be on the news shows.

The question is, how did he get the job in the first place? The man was the worst press secretary in 30 years and everyone felt that way.

His only future is as a left wing analyst. Since left-wingers are without ethics, morals or conscience as well... he will blend right in.

This cartoon is from 2006 liberal source (still applies)

LOL! Do you know where that was originally published? It would be great to be abe to cite that.

Too late now, Scotty. The snake is out of the zipper.

In other words you set out to tell the truth for once, and since you're so out of your element with regards to the truth, you messed it all up.

Badly.

Just like all Republicans do.

Now there's a hole in the condom and there's nothing you can do about it.

And it's all over but the Congressional Hearings.

Chicken's is comin' home . . .

Oh, please, McClellan. You can be bought, too? How can you possibly apologize for what this country has endured these past 7-1/2 years under the idiotic/satanic rule of Bush. I'm sure you didn't reveal the full story on that vile person, but there are others who have--and will. The worst president in the history of our country. I want my America back!

I have written publications where editors pushed me to go beyond my original position, but you have to stick your guns unless you have proof. I think he was probably pressured to go more deeply. On the other hand, book proposals may not state the author's claim as dramatically as the author intends. Some authors want to get accepted, then they turn more partisan after that. It's unclear what happened here. I do believe, however, that he is backtracking, which shows that he lacks credibility and is an opportunist. He took a hard line in press releases so that his book can get attention. Now he is trying to nuance things. Nice. Playing both sides of the coin. Typical.

McClellan is owned by George Soros.
